Natural Gas Generator Sets refers to a power generation device that uses natural gas as fuel and a gas internal combustion engine as the prime mover to drive an alternating current generator, converting mechanical energy into electrical and thermal energy. It is mainly composed of a gas engine, a synchronous AC generator, and a control system. It is efficient, economical, clean and environmentally friendly.

The natural gas generators produced and operated by our company are suitable for both conventional natural gas (i.e. gas field natural gas) and unconventional natural gas (including oilfield associated gas, coalbed methane, shale gas, etc.).

Classification of Natural Gas Generator Sets:

1. Natural gas generator sets can be classified according to the different types of gas used, including conventional natural gas generator sets, oilfield associated gas generator sets, coalbed methane generator sets, shale gas generator sets, etc. Among them, according to the methane content (M.N.), coal-bed methane generating units can be divided into: high concentration generating units (M.N. ≥ 70) and low concentration generating units (M.N.9-69);

2. The units can be classified according to different engine speeds, including high-speed natural gas generator sets (speed greater than 1000 r/min), medium speed natural gas generator sets (speed 400-1000 r/min), etc.

SMCC Group produces and supplies natural gas generator sets, with the engine brands including MAN, MWM, CSSC, Weichai, CAT, Cummins, Hyundai, etc. The power range of medium speed natural gas generator sets is from 0.3 MW to 21 MW, and the power range of high-speed natural gas generator sets is from 0.2 MW to 4.5 MW. With the further deepening of understanding of economic benefits, energy utilization, and environmental protection, gas as an environmentally friendly and clean energy source is increasingly valued by people. Natural gas such as oil and gas fields, coalbed methane, shale gas, etc. are currently vigorously advocated as new energy sources. There are more and more distributed energy power stations, and the long-term development prospects are promising. Opening up greater development space for you in the gas field will definitely bring you unparalleled competitive advantages.
